TECHNE
TECHNE is series of a fully immersive 360-degree virtual reality films that lives at the intersection of contemporary dance, interactive projections, and surround sound. Leveraging technology to bring the audience onto the stage and into our world, TECHNE delivers an entirely new perspective of a contemporary dance performance.
TECHNE was created by Sarah J. Ewing (concept/choreography), Dylan Uremovich (projection), Jonathan Hsu (photography and videography), and Jade Diouf (sound).
technevr@dancePlace premiered at Dance Place in March 2021 in a co-presentation with CityDance and S. J. Ewing & Dancers, with support from Dance Place's Carla Award and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. it was performed by Grace Cho, Diana Amalfitano, Shanice Mason, and Abby Farina.
